Harley Golf Bag Holder

2010 Technical Report on Point Evo

The interior and exterior design accents than the Grande Punto do nothing but hide the real changes that reside under the hood, where we find a long series of innovations which can reduce emissions and fuel consumption.
We have the approval and adoption of Euro 5 Start & Stop system for all engines.
But the real news is certainly fine with the introduction of the aspirated 1400cc engine and 105CV.

This innovative system developed by Fiat Powertrain makes it possible to adjust the engine power directly through the valve opening, balancing perfectly the amount of air allowed into the cylinders at each cycle.
fact, as is well known in spark ignition engines (petrol, LPG, methane, etc..) Regulation of power is changing both the quantity of air to fuel.
To adjust the air flow has been used a butterfly valve, connected to the accelerator pedal, which literally going to choke the inlet, thus limiting the flow of air. It is a functional system with the first car born but now a hundred years old and certainly not up to the lot of technology and electronics now popular in our cars.
To try to improve the situation have been introduced variable valve timing systems: the quantity of air is always adjusted by the butterfly, but more accurately dosed by the valve timing, which open more or less following the Fixed set configurations depending on the demand for power.

With the Multiair in opening the valve is continuously variable, allowing you to retire the dear good old throttle.
All this leads to a great improvement in engine performance, and higher performance with lower fuel consumption and emissions.

A great acknowledgment for FIAT and the Italian engineering that once again proved the most advanced in the world!
